Dressing up for spring

March 3, 2025

Are you dreaming of putting on your linen pants and slipping on your sandals to chase away the winter? Just wait a little longer... While we're waiting for spring, we've rounded up the latest clothing trends and tips for a successful spring wardrobe in Luxembourg!

Over the past few days, the air has been getting milder, bringing with it the scent of spring. We took the occasion to review what we'll be wearing in the coming months.

Spring 2025: pastel colors and transparencies

There's something for everyone

We finally forget the gray of winter, and see life in color again, to our great delight.

This year, spring's key colors are pastels. The three most eagerly awaited shades are pale yellow, powder pink and sky blue. These colors are reminiscent of beach vacations, with the blue of the sky blending into that of the sea.

For fans of more vibrant colors, upcoming collections will feature plenty of purple and orange, as well as apple green. Note: monochrome looks are still very much in vogue.

Between ease and elegance

When it comes to clothing, sportswear, revisited in a ballet style, is still very much in vogue. Dungarees and trouser suits are also sure-fire favourites. For cooler evenings, cover up with an oversized, rectangular blazer with very broad shoulders. This is the trend piece for spring 2025.

Fabrics are light and pleasant to wear, and we play with transparencies and lingerie to discreetly reveal the feminine silhouette. Prints and patterns will be particularly popular for the coming season.

Comfort, of course!

When it comes to footwear, the focus is on minimalism and comfort. Ballerinas are making a comeback, with sleek, easy-to-wear models. If you prefer, square-toed loafers are an excellent alternative. Lace-up boat shoes and stylish sneakers are also in vogue, as are almonds shoes, moccasins with rounded toes and small heels.

Shopping in Luxembourg: the choice is yours

To find your favorite pieces with your Pluxee Gift card, a day of shopping in Luxembourg City is ideal!

With its free transport and small size, most of the stores are within easy reach of each other. The city center, which is partly pedestrianized, has a wide range of shops to suit all tastes: from small boutiques to big-name brands, from crafts to luxury, you're sure to find what you're looking for.

Did you know that?

  • Some shops in the capital open on Sundays.
  • The shopping map, created by the City of Luxembourg, guides you through the city's shops.
  • Your Pluxee Gift card is now accepted online at Letzshop. An opportunity to discover many local products.
  • You can also enjoy your benefits at Galeries Lafayette, SMETS, Villeneuve, Jack & Jones and many more... See the full list here.
  • Non-EU residents can benefit from a VAT refund on their purchases when they leave Europe.

If you prefer to visit a shopping center on the outskirts of town, you'll find La Cloche d'Or in Gasperich, the Kirchberg Shopping Center in the Kirchberg district, and La Belle Etoile in Bertrange.

Towards more responsible fashion

Staying on trend without breaking the bank is possible, even if it requires a little more organization and patience. One of the most common ways of buying cheaper clothes is, of course, to take advantage of sales periods. But there's a more sustainable way to save on your clothing purchases.

In Luxembourg, as elsewhere, sustainable and responsible fashion is a concept that is gradually gaining ground. We're seeing more and more second-hand pop-up stores, which sometimes lead to permanent boutiques.

Last but not least, a number of retailers, having understood the current appeal of second-hand clothing, offer second-hand clothing from their own brands. The “second hand” area of the Pall Center in Oberpallen, for example, offers items of this type. And to round off your shopping day in style, you can use your Lunch card to enjoy a coffee, a bite to eat or a spot of shopping.
